BREAD PUDDING
½ a loaf of white bread
½ pint milk
1 beaten egg
1 tbsp treacle
1 tsp mixed spice
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 ripe bananas (mashed)
A few handfuls of dried fruit
(dates, sultanas, prunes, cherries)
Method
Pre-heat oven to gas mark 4 / 160°C
Chop bread into chunks, put in a large bowl
Pour over milk, mix in egg
Add treacle, mixed spice and brown sugar
Mix in mashed bananas and dried fruit
Pour into a greased shallow tin
Bake for approx. 40 minutes
